This itinerary features 8 ports of call, including visits to the Panama Canal, Acapulco & Cabo San Lucas. The Massive locks today control the level of water in the Panama Canal enabling ships to pass through this 51 mile "water bridge". The entire trip takes about 9 hours. Ships are raised and lowered a total of 170 feet as they pass from the Caribbean to the Pacific - crossing over the Isthmus of Panama and straight through the Continental Divide. On this Grand Panama Canal cruise you even have the opportunity to disembark in Panama and choose an optional excursion to see the locks operation from the land side or even tour one of the old US Military bases.
